Welcome To Back to Basics' Build Blog
Back to Basics is an antweight multi-bot shared by Alex Udanis and Paul Ogin. Alex's half weights approximately 5 ounces and can also compete as a Fairyweight. It has 2 Sanyo's for drive and uses an ultra-low wedge to get under his opponents and take them around the arena. Paul's half is the heavier half, weighing in at 10.5 ounces, and employs a servo powered lifter which also doubles as a clamper. It also has a wedge and is powered by 2 custom series gearboxes. The first time Back to Basics competed, it actually went 5-0 because it's only losses were Forfeits to our other robots, Hit or Miss and The Ouch. After it's first amazing showing, we both re-worked our halves alittle and we ended up placing 3rd at the next event. Alex and I will comtinue to tweek Back to Basics, and will keep this blog updated. 0 comments send to friend |
I think the multi-bot design has always intreagued robot builders, because of the fact you can use 2 different desings, stragities, and attack from different angles. There are many downfalls to multi-bots though, like the cost and the weight disadvantages of the individual 'bots. To split the costs and time of building 2 robots I teamed up with a fellow builder Paul Ogin. Paul and I live 300 miles away from each other so baically we decided to build the best antweight you can with 8oz. So Back To Basics was born.To find out more about the robot read on. 0 comments send to friend |
